Champion Swag

Well our friends over at Champion USA have done it again. After hooking up the #KUlax team with a generous supply of sweats, shorts, dry-fits, pinnies and compressions for the season last spring, I didn't think they could possibly outdo themselves this year. Well, in short, they did.

When we entered the gym today, our team was blessed with a box filled with some of the sickest pinnies I have seen to date. Now you have to understand that among the lacrosse community,  a good pinny is like showing up to the party with a perfect-10. It's the kind of thing that makes you proud to rep and excited to gloat to your friends and former teammates about. For this reason, I would like to send my grateful appreciation to the fine people over at Champion USA for providing me and my teammates with our dime-piece for the spring-- not counting our team managers, of course. #dope

Patience is a Virtue

Just wanted to send out an apology for the lack of posts lately. This year, I've been working hard to expand my talents from the video world, to the literary, and now, to the music industry as well. Over the last few months, I have quietly begun writing and recording my own music with the goal to put out a mix-tape by the end of the Fall Semester.

As I am nearing my deadline, I ask that you bare with me for the next few weeks as I buckle down and try to put a final product out there that I can be proud of. Maybe I'll even release a track or two before then...? Stay tuned. #PatienceIsAVirtue

"I'm Just A Jock Who Likes to Shower With Little Boys."

...WHAT?!

First I would like to extend my apologies for my absence over the last week or so, as I have been battling a cold and am working hard to release some new material after Thanksgiving break. But, in light of the Jerry SanDeutschsky scandal at Pen15 State, I just had to chime back in.

Before I rip this guy a new one, let's look at a timeline of events during Sandusky's tenor at PSU:

1969: Sandusky is hired at Penn State

1977: Sandusky founds The Second Mile Charity foundation for boys-- think he had an alterior motive?

1980's: Helped PSU win a couple titles-- blah, blah no one cares

1994-98: Three cases of Sandusky sexually assaulting 8-10 year old boys are reported

1999: Sandusky retires

Here's where I'll stop the timeline for a second. By 1999, Sandusky had retired as a coach from Penn State, yet the staff and campus police still let him maintain an active role with the team. One year later (in 2000), a janitor apparently spotted Sandusky going down on a 10-11 year old kid in the showers, but for whatever the reason may be, he is still hanging around after that.

The icing on the cake comes in 2002, when Ginger Assistant -- check that, Graduate Assistant --  Mike McQueary walked in on Sandusky performing anal sex on a young boy. Call me nuts, but I just can't help but think that one's moral values would kick in at this time, and, at the very least, call out, "Hey, Jerr, buddy, maybeeee you shouldn't be doing that." Rather than stepping in, McQueary went and told his dad-- What are you, a 5-year-old?

Finally the news gets brought to Joe Pa, who brings the incident to the Athletic Director and so on.

But this was 9 years ago now. How in the world did the Penn State allow this monster to continue to be a presence at practice and around the campus? Not only that, in 2007,  Sandusky began to bring around one of the apparent victims, even though he had been banned from bringing children on campus-- yeah, they really stuck it to him...

Sandusky was arrested on November 5, and spoke out for the first time yesterday evening in an interview with Sports Reporter, Bob Costas. In the interview, Sandusky denied all allegations of sexual actions with young boys as his attorney explained that he is "just your typical, fun-spirited jock," -- oh yeah sure, just your classic case of a 60-year-old jock who likes to shower with young boys-- #VintageSandusky. In defense of the 40 criminal accounts against him, Sandusky replied,

"I have horsed around with kids. I -- I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their leg. Without intent of sexual contact..."
good luck, bro.

Final Fraze
Other than the overall well-being of the victims, the one thing about this Penn State scandal that just really picks at me is that no one took the initiative to step in directly and handle the situation. Now, I can understand that this must have been an extremely delicate situation for Joe Pa and the staff to handle, as Sandusky was one of their loyal associates for years. And I get that it would be difficult to turn in a trusted friend for allegations that would undeniably ruin his life. With that said, if you witness or have knowledge of a 60-year-old man that has been sexually assaulting young boys, it is your moral duty to step in and do something about it. It is an absolute shame that a beloved and well-respected coach like Joe Paterno had to be cut loose on what was likely to be the final season of his 44-year tenor at Penn State; however, in this situation, merely telling your superior is not enough.

Lax 'n Junk

Today I've decided to do a little self promo and toss up a couple of my own videos on the page.

For those of you who are not familiar with my work, a little while back, I got the idea to start video-taping random rants to send to my friends, mainly for the purpose of keeping myself entertained during my 8hr drives from Chicago to Lawrence. Eventually, this evolved into the development of my own YouTube series from the road called, "just a thought: The Life of a Lax Bro."

This summer, I was fortunate to travel to Mexico to shoot my newest video "Laxico," in which I once again tossed on my Lax Bro persona in search for a non-existent Mexican Lacrosse. The video also features music from our boy, up-coming Hip-Hop artist Matt Easton. The humor is extremely dry and everything was shot from my iPhone. Hope you like the videos and if not, well... How's ya motha? #Enjoy

If you like what you saw, hook a dude up with some 'likes' on YouTube and spread the good word!

Much appreciated,

Things Longer Than Kim Kardashian's Marriage

The 72-day hike that was the Humphries-Kardashian marriage came to an end on Monday, confirming to the world that Kim Kardashian's love life is still very much the "butt" of every joke-- #PunIntended.

In response to this short-lived lifetime commitment, the twitter world lashed out with the trending hashtag -- #ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage -- this should be fun.

So here goes, #ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage...

The Ray-Jay sex tape.

Rebecca Black's career.

The NBA lockout.

LeBron's hairline.

Mini-Me's height chart.

An episode of Chloe & Lamar.

HBO commercial breaks.

A Halloween costume's shelf-life.

Lindsey Lohan's coke lines.

A virgin's first time.

Devin Hester's vocabulary.

That'll do...

Now I hate to be insensitive during Kim's time of hardship, but considering the massive publicity stunt that was "Kim's Fairytale Wedding," which only led to her Guinness Book worthy, short courtship with Chris Humphries, I really can't let this one go. Speaking of the unemployed athlete, what the H-E-double hockey sticks was he thinking? Everyone knows if you're going to bang a Kardashian, you're at LEAST supposed to get a championship out of it-- just ask Reggie Bush and Lamar Odom.

Final Fraze
If Chris Humphries couldn't stick it out long enough to get a ring, there must be really something wrong with the amature porn star-- or is it reality TV? Let's go with the porn. Either way, I'm sure Kim Kardashian is already well on her way to her next engagement, I'm thinking TO or Chad OchoCinco--- they've already got their own shows. #MyPrediction

Let's have some fun with this. Toss up some of your own posts with the hashtag: #ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage
